The former Union minister claimed that the Akali-BJP combine government of Punjab has outlived its life and it was just a matter of time when this government falls. Addressing a workers meting in Haibbowal near here, Tewari said,"The neighbouring Haryana has managed to get 100 per cent relaxation for procurement in terms of colour and moisture, while no such relief has been given to Punjabi farmers."

Tewari alleged that the treasuries in Punjab were empty and there was no money even to pay the salaries "what to speak of any development anywhere".
