In the Noney District of Manipur on Wednesday, a bus carrying students was involved in an accident that resulted in multiple deaths. According to early reports, the accident occurred as two buses carrying students from Thambalnu Higher Secondary School, Yaripok were travelling to Khoupum on a study tour.
As per Zee Media Bureau, seven students students have lost their lives while many were injured during the terrible accident and had been taken to nearby medical facilities.
Around 36 students and staff from Thambalnu Higher Secondary School, Yairipok were on board the bus when it crashed and overturned at Nungsai village, about 50 kilometres south-west of Imphal, at around 11 a.m., according to police. On a study tour, the students were travelling to Khoupum, Hindustan reported .
CM N Biren Singh tweeted, " Deeply saddened to hear about the accident of a bus carrying school children at the Old Cachar Road today. SDRF, Medical team and MLAs have rushed to the site to coordinate the rescue operation. Praying for the safety of everyone in the bus."
