A wild elephant trampled a man to death at village Khetkhera of Champawat district here, officials today said.

The incident occurred yesterday when Mahesh Chandra Sharma, a photographer, was going home. The pachyderm suddenly appeared from the jungles and trampled him to death.

His body has been sent for postmortem.
