Kanhaiya Lal (33) died while his friend Pankaj Jha (27) sustained injuries in the incident yesterday.

Jha told the police that he was planning to board the Magadh Express to Bihar when he called up his friend Lal to meet him at Nangloi.

When they were passing through Nangloi, three men attacked Jha with a knife and robbed him of Rs 2,500, and stabbed Lal and snatched his wallet, the police said.

As Lal's wallet contained some important papers, he chased the accused. However, two men caught hold of him while the third one stabbed him multiple times, they said.

Five teams were formed to identify the accused and Jha was taken to the spot where his friend was killed.

Jha told the police that one of the accused, later identified as Mithu Lal (30), had several cut marks on his head and chest.

He also told the police that he had a pipe used for puffing smack placed behind his ear. Based on these clues, the police rounded up 20 drug addicts from the area.

Later, Lal was identified and two of his accomplices, Pawan (21) and Sumit (22) were also arrested, they added.
