Man drowns in river Godavari

A 30-year-old man, a resident of Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur district, drowned in river Godavari near here, police said today.Baltu Ramprit Nisar, a painter by profession, went for swimming in the river near Asaram Bapu Ashram along with his friends yesterday. He drowned as he could not fathom the water level, they said. Nisar's body was fished out by Fire Brigade personnel last night, police added.
