"Since our government is liberal, we are not saying anything. But you (section of media) can't interfere and distort my statement. If this continues, we must initiate legal action," Banerjee told a press conference.

Banerjee also charged opposition CPI(M) and a section of the media with running a "misleading" campaign on the deadlock at the Haldia dock.

"We have given full police protection. CPI(M) is running a misleading campaign along with one or two media houses for their self interest," she said.

Banerjee alleged both CPI(M) and the Congress were hand in glove to criticise the state government's policy for industrialisation, which was being encouraged by section of the media.
