The US-India Business Council has invited West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to visit USA to showcase Bengal as an ideal destination for investment.

In a recent letter to the chief minister, US-India Business Council (USIBC) chairman Ajay Banga even promised the CM to arrange for an investors' meet in the US to help mobilise investment for the state.

Disclosing the text of the letter, state's Finance and Industry Minister Amit Mitra said that the USIBC chairman appreciated the industrial environment prevailing in the state.

"The state has good business environment and tremendous opportunity for investment," the letter said, adding "now it is upto the CM to take a call".

The USIBC has partnered with the major trade bodies in India, including the Confederation of Indian Industry, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, American Chamber of Commerce in India (AmCham India), National Association of Software and Services Companies, Indus Entrepreneurs and the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC).
