As some parts of Maharashtra are experiencing unlock because of their low positivity rate, there still are a few districts that are seeing a rise in the COVID-19 cases where the covid restrictions have not been lifted. Not only this, but the state is also looking at a rapid increase in Delta variant cases which is a definite cause of worry.
Recently, Maharashtra's Nashik district recorded thirty cases of the Delta variant altogether which created a panic amongst people living in nearby areas. All the patients were found in the rural areas of Nashik district.
The administration in charge of the area was alarmed at the number of cases of the Delta variant in such a small area which can easily spread amongst others.
After this, the restrictions in the rural area have been tightened and all residents have asked to follow covid appropriate behaviour to avoid the spread of COVID-19 or the new Delta variant.
Maharashtra's Nira village, in Purandar tehsil of Pune city, has also reported two new cases of Delta plus variants which again had caused a situation of panic. It was the same village that had also recorded the state's very first Zika virus case.
