Lower Assam bandh disrupts life, one killed
The All Assam Koch Rajbonshi Students Union activists protesting against arrest of some of their leaders yesterday also blocked traffic and picketted on the national highway.
One person was killed and several others were injured in lower Assam today during a bandh call by the All Assam Koch Rajbonshi Students Union (AKRSU).One person was killed when he was hit by stone-pelting by a group of protestors in Bongaigaon, official sources said.The AKRSU activists protesting against arrest of some of their leaders yesterday also blocked traffic and picketted on the national highway.Financial institutions and schools remained closed in all the lower Assam districts of Kokrajhar, Bongaigaon, Dhubri and Goalpara.
