Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will file his nomination from the Vadodara Lok Sabha constituency on Wednesday.Modi will arrive at the district collectorate's office to file his nomination papers after holding a roadshow.Thousands of police personnel have been deployed along the four-kilometre-route through which his cavalcade will pass through. Modi is also contesting from the Varanasi constituency in Uttar Pradesh.Vadodara is considered a BJP stronghold with the party winning the seat by almost 1.5 lakh seats in 2008. Six of the seven assembly segments in the constituency are held by the BJP while the remaining seat is held by an independent, who is now in the BJP fold.The Vadodara unit of the BJP has reportedly chosen a tea vendor as one among five proposers for Modi's nomination.Party sources said tea seller Kiran Mahida will be one of the proposers. Modi is up against Congress candidate Madhusudan Mistry from the constituency.Modi will arrive at Vadodara airport from New Delhi at around 9:15 am, and will commence his 'Vijay Vishwas Rally' roadshow from the Kirti Stambh and move through Khanderao market, Nyay Mandir, Jubiless Baugh and Raopura before culminating at the collector's office. He expected to file his nomination papers at 11 a.m., before leaving for Maharashtra to take the BJP's electoral campaign forward.
