Lockdown in Rajasthan? Cinema halls, schools for classes 1 to 9 shut - Check new guidelines

Amid a surge in coronavirus cases, the Rajasthan government on Sunday issued new guidelines to curb the virus spread. The government has made RT-PCR test mandatory for people entering the state and those travelling outside.

According to the COVID-19 guidelines, cinema halls, theaters, multiplexes, amusement parks will be closed from April 5. Swimming pools, gyms will not be allowed to open.

The state government further said that excluding the takeaway and delivery services, restaurants should abide by the night curfew.

"Classes 1 to 9 will remain suspended. DMs can impose night curfews but they will be required to seek government's permission for curfew before 8 pm and after 6 am," the Rajasthan government said, according to news agency ANI.

"Not more than 100 people will be allowed at weddings while cinemas/theatres/multiplexes will be closed," it added.

Videography of the ceremony will be done by the wedding organizer and will be made available on demand by the concerned subdivision officer. If any marriage garden is found to be in violation of the provisions of Covid-19 protocol, it will be sealed under the prevailing statutes.

Work from Home will be encouraged. In state offices, 75 percent of the personnel will be called as per the requirement by the office. The remaining personnel will do work from home.

Classes from 1 to 9 will remain suspended till 19 April. All UG and PG classes will remain suspended except for final-year students. Schools and colleges will be shut if COVID positive cases are found. Nursing, paramedical and medical colleges will remain open as before.

In open spaces, each person has to keep a distance of 6 feet (2 yards) keeping in mind the size of the field/place.

The above guidelines will also be followed by religious places.

Rajasthan on Sunday reported 1,729 fresh Covid-19 cases which took the infection tally to 3,39,325, while two deaths took the toll in the state to 2,829, according to an official report. One death each was reported from Ajmer and Nagaur districts, it said.

The fresh cases included the highest of 258 in Jaipur, 225 in Kota and 194 in Jodhpur, the report said. A total of 3,23,618 people have recovered from Covid-19 and the number of active cases at present is 12,878.
