After failing to sell his agricultural produce of last season, a loan-ridden farmer in Burdwan district committed suicide, police said today.64-year-old Madhai Ghosh came home after drinking poison last evening after which he was taken to Burdwan Medical College and Hospital where he died hours later.A resident of Raina's Jakta village, the farmer had grown paddy and potatoes on 9.5 bigha land last season, his family said adding he had failed to sell the crop.A large part of the produce is still lying unsold in his godown while the moneylenders were pressurising him for the last few months, his family said.
