Day 3 of David Headley's deposition before Mumbai court adjourned due to technical snag

This is the third day consecutive of the deposition of the Pakistani-American LeT operative to a Mumbai court via a video link in the US.

Lashkar-e-Taiba operative David Coleman Headley's deposition before a Mumbai court was on Wednesday adjourned due to a technical glitch in the video conference from the US.

In the last two days, Headley has revealed several details of the planning that led to the 2008 Mumbai attack that killed 166 people and injured 309.

On Tuesday, he made a stunning revelation that the LeT had plans to target a conference of Indian defence scientists and the Siddhivinayak temple in Mumbai. The plan was however aborted. Headley claimed that terror outfits LeT, Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) are given financial and military support by the Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). He also told the court that he was asked by the ISI to recruit India armymen to spy for them.

The LeT operative is currently serving 35-year prison sentence in the US for his role in the Mumbai attacks.

The court had on December 10, 2015, made Headley an approver in the case and directed him to depose before the court on February 8.

    Public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam said, "Due to a technical snag, even after repeatedly trying, a connection could not be established via video conferencing. The time difference between India and the United States is also a technical difficulty. Hope the snag is dealt with so we can question Headley again tomorrow."
