Body of a lion was found in Dhari forest range region in Khamba taluka here, forest
officials said today. The body was found outside the Pipalva village last night by some villagers returning from their farms, they said.
    
Forest officials of the Dhari forest range have sent the animal's body to Khamba Veterinary hospital for postmortem, police said.
    
Preliminary, observation suggests that the lion died of old age or some disease as there were no wounds or injuries on its body, they added. Khamba taluka falls in the eastern part of Gir wildlife sanctuary, which is the only abode of Asiatic lions in the world.
