Lieutenant General BS Jaswal, general officer commanding-in-chief northern command, today visited forward areas along the Line of Control (LoC) on the last day of his two-day tour to Jammu and Kashmir.Jaswal, who arrived in Srinagar yesterday, went to forward areas in north Kashmir, where he was briefed by senior officers on prevailing security environment and measures instituted towards guarding the Line of Control, a defence spokesman said.The visit of the senior army commander comes at a time when repeated infiltration bids were foiled in past few days by the army troops guarding the border.Jaswal was accompanied by Lt Gen NC Marwah, general officer commanding of Srinagar-based Chinar Corps.He later flew back to Udhampur.
