CPI general secretary A B Bardhan has alleged that the Centre used CBI to overcome the cut motion moved by Left parties against its policies in Parliament.The Congress-led UPA government succeeded in keeping thesmall parties along with them by using the CBI as a weapon,Bardhan said at a public meeting here last night.Referring to the spiralling prices,he said Union governmentwas not taking any steps to deal with blackmarketers and checkforward trading of foodgrains and blamed Centre's policy forcurrent spurt in prices.Left parties would intensify its stiragainst the Centre's 'anti-people' policies,he said.Rising prices of essential commodities,growing unemploymentand corruption have made the commonman's life miserable, hesaid.
