LF chairman Biman Bose said an internal emergency like situation prevailed in the state similar to 1977 when on June 25 midnight Emergency was declared and people were denied their basic rights. ''So we have decided to observe these two days as Emergency days,'' Bose said after a Left Front state committee meeting. Bose said a decision had been taken to set up a co-ordination committee of Left legislative members consisting of the leader of the opposition, deputy leader and members from all parties.

A workshop for 31 new Left members of the House will be organised to make them aware of the role of the opposition in the assembly, Bose added.
