The Aslali police were in for a shock when they ran into a lawyer, an extortionist and the brother of a policeman, illegally occupying an expensive plot of land in Juhapura on Tuesday night.
According to police officials, three people were arrested from the
spot itself. The three, including lawyer Nisar Vaidya, brother of a police-sub inspector Shahid alias Babloo, and one Baku Khan Pathan, were booked for assault and loot.
Incidentally, Baku Khan Pathan was released from jail on Monday.
Sources said that the accused, along with a mob of over 100 people, barged into Gajala farm located next to Amber tower in Juhapura. They then allegedly tried to occupy it by force and assaulted the gardener Santosh Rawat. Officials said that Sultan Pathan, one of the accused was absconding. Superintendent of Police (SP), rural, Sandeep Singh, said, "We have arrested three people and eight bikes have also been recovered. We will soon nab the rest of the accused who were in the mob."
