In a letter to Sonia Gandhi, Hazare has praised the 2013 law that the BJP government wants to over turn.

He has also suggested six issues that should get attention in the interest of farmers.

Hazare has insisted on land mapping. In his letter to Gandhi, Hazare has said that land mapping has not been done in the country since independence to classify land into six grades and the top grades quite productive agriculture-wise should be barred from conversion for industries through a specific law.

Hazare has opposed to the doing away with the Social Impact Assessment, which is a safeguard to prevent diversion of acquired land. Both Gandhi and Hazare are against dropping of the consent clauses. In the 2013 law, 80 percent consent of the farmers was required for acquiring land by private companies, and 70 percent farmer consent for the PPP projects. The clause has now been down away with.

Sonia in her letter to Hazare has expressed her agreement with the concerns of Gandhian Anna Hazare on the NDA government's land bill and vowed to oppose it at all fora.
