RAJGIR: RJD president and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad on Saturday predicted the fall of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's government in Bihar but said his party would not topple it.

"It is not the RJD that will manoeuvre to topple the Nitish Kumar government. It will be pulled down by its own MLAs," Prasad told a two-day training camp of his party here.

The RJD, he said, will support any party or combination of parties which will be in a position to form an alternative government.

He criticised the state government, saying, "Mere sloganeering about good governance will not not do. There is no law and order, the economy is in a shambles and the government has failed to stem loot, murder and extortion.

"This regime is bound to fall flat on its face," he said. Addressing the gathering, Leader of Opposition and former chief minister Rabri Devi said "a government that cannot provide basic necessities like drinking water and electricity does not deserve to survive".
