Kolkata: Presidency College student dies of suspected drug overdose

A Presidency College student died while her room-mate was struggling for life in a hospital in Kolkata due to a suspected drug overdose, police said.

The victim and her room mate were found unconscious this morning after police broke open the door of the room, they were staying as paying guests, under Muchipara police station in central part of the city, they said.

Both the girls, from North Bengal, were rushed to the Calcutta Medical College Hospital where doctors declared the victim brought dead, they said.

Her friend, who is working here in the city, was in a critical condition, police said, adding that body of the deceased was sent for post mortem.
