Kolkata: Fire breaks out in Electronics Regional Test Laboratory in Salt Lake city
Ten fire tenders were pressed into service to douse flames.
A massive fire broke out on Wednesday in a laboratory of the Electronics Regional Test Laboratory (East) office in Kolkata, police said.
Ten fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the flames which broke out inside the laboratory on the second floor of the building in Sector V of Salt Lake city, they said.
"The reason of the fire is yet to be ascertained. We have evacuated the building and are using special ladders to water the possible source of fire on the second floor of the building," an officer of the fire department said.
Water foam is also being used to bring the fire under control, he said.
