On October 13, many states in the eastern part of India are celebrating Kojagiri Lakshmi Puja which is held on Sharad Purnima every year.

In the full-moon day, Goddess Lakshmi is worshiped with much devotion across West Bengal, Odisha, Assam and some of the other states. 

Lakshmi puja is held just 5 days after Dashami, which marks the end of Durga Puja. So overall it justs adds to the element of festivity. Lakshmi Puja comes between Durga Puja and Kali Puja. Most of the government offices and schools, colleges are also closed till Lakshmi Puja.
