On the sidelines of the inauguration of the mega exhibition, Modi said, Vibrant Gujarat 2011 will focus on knowledge sharing initiatives. "The investment issues during the entire summit should remain negligible. Instead we want knowledge to be the main focus of this year's event," he added.

The CM thanked L&T for constructing the venue, Mahatama Mandir in less than seven to eight months. Modi said, probably this is the first of its kind government project which has been completed in such a short period. "Keeping politics aside, this event should benefit every state of the nation," CM added.

In previous Vibrant Gujarat summits Japan was the main partner. This year, Japan as well as Canada has partnered the event. The CM said 45 countries and 19 states are participating in the event.

The mega exhibition area is spread over 33,000 square mts of the area at Mahatma Mandir. There are more than 300 stalls and a separate infotainment zone, which provides multi-media technology and access to state information and its activities.
