Khushwant Singh to be honoured by Panjab University
Former Lok Sabha speaker Somnath Chatterjee is also being conferred with a doctorate degree by the Panjab University.
Noted journalist and writer Khushwant Singh and former Lok Sabha speaker Somnath Chatterjee are among a host of celebrities to be conferred with doctorate degrees by the Panjab University.The decision to honour them with honoris causa degrees for their outstanding contribution in their respective fields was taken in Chandigarh today by the PU's Senate comprising experts, a University spokesperson said.Meanwhile, the varsity panel has also recommended the name of AK Sood of the department of Physics, Indian Institute of Science (Bangalore), for the prestigious Vigyan Ratna award.
