Union minister of state for home, Mullappally Ramachandran today alleged that the CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) did not create a suitable situation wherein people could cast their vote fearlessly.Speaking to mediapersons after casting his vote at a booth at nearby Vadakara in Kozhikode, Ramachandran alleged that he had received several complaints from the people in this connection."I had received complaints last night and immediately I had couriered the same to the Kannur District top Police official," Ramachandran said.Kerala home minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan had the responsibility to create a congenial atmosphere for the people to fearlessly exercise their rights."Balakrishnan could have accepted if there was a request from the people in this regard," he said.Ramachandran had recently told mediapersons at Quilandy that if the state government requests for the deployment of Central forces for manning polls, Union government would consider the request 'sympathetically'.In reply to Ramachandran's remark, Balakrishnan had then said that 'there did not arise a situation for the state government to seek central forces'.
