Kerala government today sanctioned Rs five lakh to K V Rabiya, a physcially challenged social worker for her role in literacy campaign movement in Kerala.
The amount was sanctioned following a plea by Rabiya seeking help for herself and her sister suffering from cancer.
A decision in this regard was taken at today's cabinet meeting, a press release said.
The wheelchair-bound Rabiya had received the 1993 National Youth award from then Prime Minister Narasimha Rao.
