Ahead of the Hurriyat hawk’s renewed call for two-day strike, chief minister on Sunday said the solution to the political issue of Jammu and Kashmir is on the anvil and therefore political leadership in the state should join hands and contribute positively.

“The solution to the political issues of Jammu and Kashmir is on the anvil. Political leadership of all shades of opinion should join hands and contribute in this pursuit positively and sincerely,” he said while addressing the gathering after laying the foundation of a mega tourist circuit ‘ Naagar Nagar at Kathi Darwaza here.

Hurriyat hawk Syed Ali Shah Geelani has called for two-day strike from Tuesday against the continued detentions of people in the Valley.

“By giving calls for lock outs they (separatists) directly hinder the traders from  undertaking their day to day business, undermine the education of students... and debar patients to receive treatment in hospital. What service are they rendering to the people by this kind of attitude?” the chief minister asked.
