Kashmir was rattled by widespread mob violence and clashes which left 12 people dead and 126, including 96 security forces personnel, injured even as curfew was clamped across the Valley and mobile internet services suspended to contain the fallout of gunning down of militant commander Burhan Wani.

On Saturday, as Burhan, the 21-year-old poster boy of Hizbul Mujahideen militant outfit, was laid to rest in his native place Tral, violent mobs attacked installations of police and paramilitary forces at various places in the Valley and set ablaze several buildings including three police installations, as a result of which three cops were missing.

Of the people who died during the clashes, eight of them were from Anantnag, two from Kulgam and one in Shopian. Of these, 10 died of bullet injuries and another person drowned.

3. Safeer Bhat Charigam resident of Anantnag in South Kashmir. (drowned).

4. Adil Bashir resident of Dooru, Anantnag in South Kashmir. 

5. Abdul Hameed Mochi resident of Arwani Kulgam in South Kashmir. 

6. Danish Shah residwnt of Achabal area of Anantnag in South Kashmir. 

7. Jehangir Ganai resident of Hassan pora Bijbehara, Anantnag in South Kashmir. 

8. Azad Hussain resident of Shopian in South Kashmir. 

9. Aijaz Thokar resident of Siligam Anantnag in South Kashmir. 

10: Mohammad Ashraf Dar resident of Kokernag Anantnag in South Kashmir. 

11: Showkat Mir resident of Hassanpora, Bijbehara Anantnag in South Kashmir. 

The identity of the 12th person has not been confirmed yet.
