He filed complaints against 4 IAS officers who are Dr Kalapana (Mission Director, Sakala Mission DPAR), N Laxminarayan (Principal Secretary PWD), TK Anil Kumar (Principal Secretary, DPAR), and EV Ramanna Reddy (Principal Secretary for government revenue).

Mathai has alleged maladministration, corruption and harassment by senior IS officers in his complaint to Lokayukta. In the past, he has exposed the hoarding scam in BBMP and a multi-crore scam in allotment of sites by Mandya Urban Development Authority.

Harassment in the IAS has hit the news since the mysterious death of officer Anurag Thakur. Several officers told India Today they have faced death threats and blamed the IAS mafia in Karnataka. K Mathai, who has been transferred 27 times in 9 years, had told India Today: “They systematically cut everything and then ask somebody since he does not have an official vehicle to go and hit him.”
