Accusing Kerala of being "deliberately stubborn" on building a new reservoir to replace the Mullaperiyar dam, DMK chief M Karunanidhi today said the Centre should act impartially and resolve the issue."Mullaperiyar issue is a long standing problem. Tamil Nadu has been fair in its stand. But, Kerala is being deliberately stubborn on building a new dam," he told reporters here. His party's stand was that the people of both the states should adopt a brotherly attitude on the issue, he said, adding the Centre has to "act impartially to find ways" to resolve the issue."People of Tamil Nadu should maintain peace and help the Centre in finding a solution. If we also take to the agitational path as followed by Kerala, there will not be unity and peace in the country," he said."As there are members from Tamil Nadu and Kerala in the (Supreme Court-appointed empowered) committee headed by Justice AS Anand going into the issue, my opinion is that we should not rush before the committee arrives at a decision," he said.
