According to a medical bulletin issued by Aanthapuri Hospital, where the 93-year-old former chief minister has been undergoing treatment for nearly a week, he has slowly begun to respond to medicines.
The condition of ailing Congress stalwart K Karunakaran improved further today and doctors partly reduced his ventilator support as he was responding to medicines.
According to a medical bulletin issued by Aanthapuri Hospital, where the 93-year-old former chief minister has been undergoing treatment for nearly a week, he has slowly begun to respond to medicines.
A team of specialised doctors are attending on him and frequently reviewing his condition, it said.
His vitals are normal, the bulletin said.
Karunakaran was admitted to hospital with severe breathing problem and fever on Friday.
His condition took a critical turn on Monday and had to be kept on total ventilator support for the next two days.
Since yesterday, he started showing signs of recovery and the ventilator support had been eased partly.
