Online registrations for the Kartarpur corridor, which were earlier scheduled to begin from today, for pilgrims have been postponed. The corridor will connect the Dera Baba Nanak shrine in Gurdaspur district to Darbar Sahib in Pakistan's Kartarpur.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate Kartarpur Corridor on November 8 while Pakistan will inaugurate it on November 9.

Pilgrims will have to carry their passport while visiting the holy shrine, however, no visa will be required.

Earlier, the Pakistani government had extended an invitation to ex-PM Manmohan Singh for the inauguration of the Kartarpur corridor to be held on November 9 in Pakistan.

Speaking on the invitation to former PM Manmohan Singh, Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Saturday said he (Manmohan Singh) will visit Pakistan as a 'yatri' (ordinary citizen) and not as chief guest for the corridor's opening.

However, when the invitation was sent to ex-PM Manmohan Singh, Congress sources said that he will not accept the invite.

On October 3, Captain Amarinder Singh, the Chief Minister of Punjab, India, had said that he will not go to Pakistan for the opening of the Kartarpur corridor and indicated that former prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh will also not attend the event.
