Congress and JD(S) on Saturday hoped that with the Supreme Court ordering live telecast of Assembly proceedings the BJP may not be able to use "dirty" tricks at the time of trust vote slated for 4 pm today.

As the proceedings of the Assembly began today, pro tem speaker KG Bopaiah administered oath to legislators. The Supreme Court rejecting the Congress petition challenging his appointment has heaved him a sigh of relief.

Of the 78 legislators of the Congress party, two legislators BS Anand Singh and Pratap Gowda Patil are still missing from the assembly. However, the party has not yet lost the hope as the MLAs have indicated that they would come before the trust vote.

"Physically he is not with us but he is in contact with our leaders. He has to come to Vidhana Soudha today. He will definitely vote for us. He is with us. He will come back," said Ramalinga Reddy on Congress MLA BS Anand Singh.

As far as JD(S) is concerned, its CM candidate HD Kumaraswamy led the legislators to the Vidhana Soudha. He said the party is united and will vote out BS Yeddyurappa as the Chief Minister.

"For me, today is not an important day, the important days will come in the future. Up to 4 pm, BJP will try to poach our MLAs. All the MLAs are together, no one is going to go to the other side. None of our MLAs are trapped. Me and Siddaramaiah will go together," Kumaraswamy said.

Confident BJP legislators, who arrived at Vidhana Soudha on three buses, showed victory signs before entering the assembly premises. Party MP Shobha Karandlaje and some legislators said BSY is 100% sure to win the trust vote.

Confident of winning the floor test in Karnataka Assembly, Yeddyurappa has asked his supporters to be ready for celebrations after 5 pm. He has said that would tomorrow announce major policy decisions including farm loan waiver upto Rs 1 lakh, more funds for irrigation sector and increase in pension given to old citizens.

Uma Devi, daughter of CM Yeddyurappa, performed special prayer at Siddalingeshwara Mutt in Tumkur, a famous Lingayat temple. "I hope he wins the trust vote," she said.
