Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has emerged victorious in the Karhal seat in Uttar Pradesh, defeating his BJP rival in the constituency.
The counting of the votes remains underway for the Uttar Pradesh election results 2022, and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav has won from the Karhal seat, defeating BJP’s candidate from the constituency, SP Singh Baghel.
Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav maintained a comfortable lead from the Karhal constituency of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, according to the latest poll trends.
Yadav had secured 48,379 votes so far while his nearest rival Union Minister SP Singh Baghel got 19,243 votes, according to the Election Commission. Karhal seat is considered a stronghold of the SP. Yadav has so far got 67.15 percent votes while Baghel got 26.71 percent votes.
Akhilesh, who is MP from Azamgarh, is contesting the assembly election for the first time.
Though Akhilesh has won big from the Karhal seat in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections 2022, BJP is expected to emerge victorious in the state, with the lion’s share of the seats out of the total 403.
