At least five people were killed on Wednesday after an explosion following Ammonia gas leak that took place in a cold storage in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur. All the deceased are from Bihar.

Two others have been rescued. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team reached the spot to investigate the accident. Rescue mission is currently underway. 

According to NDTV, there were 25 people, out of whom eleven people included farmers, cold storage staff in the building during the incident.

The owner of the cold storage and his son are still trapped in the debris. 

The army has been called for help and hospitals have been put on alert. 

Ten ambulances, JCB and cutters were brought to the spot.
