Kallakurichi Lok Sabha Election Results 2019: DMK's P Gautham Sigamani leading with 59.79% votes against DMDK LK Sudhish

Kallakurichi Lok Sabha Election Results 2019: Election in Kallakurichi constituency was held on April 18 in the second phase of Lok Sabha Election 2019. Polling in 38 out of 39 parliamentary constituencies was held in the second phase of general elections.

Counting at 6:49 pm: Gautham Sigamani Pon of the DMK with 709599 votes is leading against LK Sudhish of the DMDK who has so far secured 318219 votes.

DMK's P Gautham Sigamani and DMDK's LK Sudhish were the key candidates in the fray in 2019 elections.

Kallakurichi has an urban workforce of 25% and the average literacy rate here is 82%.

AIADMK's arch-rival DMK contested 2019 election in alliance with Congress, CPI(M), CPI, MDMK, VCK, IUML, KMDK and IJK.  

K Kamaraj of the AIADMK was the sitting MP in Kallakurichi who defeated R Manimaran of the DMK by a margin of more than 2 lakh votes.

Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) is a regional party led by actor-turned-politician Vijayakanth. For the upcoming elections, the party has entered into an alliance with AIADMK and will be contesting on four seats. Besides DMDK, AIADMK has also aligned with BJP, PMK, DMDK, Tamil Maanila Congress, Puthia Tamizagam, Puthia Needhi Katchi and NR Congress.

2014: K Kamaraj(M) of the AIADMK received 533383 votes. He thrashed R Manimaran (M) of the DMK who secured 309876 votes. 
 
2009: M Adhi Sankar(M) of the DMK secured 363601 votes. He defeated K Dhanaraju (M) of the PMK  who received 254993 votes.
