Andhra Pradesh chief minister K Rosaiah today granted Rs34 crore to upgrade various hospitals in the state, official sources said. This includes upgrading existing hospital into a Super Speciality hospital at Eluru in West Godavari district, they said. He asked the health department to see that the services in the government hospitals are improved.

Rosaiah said that there were complaints about lack of proper services in the PHCs, district and other government-run hospitals and the department should take utmost care to ensure that the services in these hospitals are improved to serve the common man. He added that education and public health are of utmost importance to the government, an official release said today.
