GANDHINAGAR: The Akshardham temple authorities on Saturday welcomed the Prevention of Terrorism Act court order, sentencing three persons to death and three others to different prison terms, for the September 24, 2002, attack, saying ''justice has been done''.

''The judiciary has upheld the rule of law to deter acts of terrorism and safeguard the society. We continue to pray that no acts of terrorism should occur anywhere in the world, any place or against any people. May peace and tranquility prevail without hatred and thoughts of revenge,'' Swami Nishit Acharya of Swaminarayan temple, Gandhinagar said.

In the terrorist attack on the temple, 35 people including two National Security Guard commandos were killed and 81 injured.
