A journalist working for a local Urdu language magazine has been detained by police as part of investigations into the use of SIM cards for "subversive activities" in Kashmir.Arif Gilkar, a resident of Srinagar's old city, who works as an associate editor with 'Suraag-e-Kashmir' news magazine, has been detained for questioning, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Khanyar Tahir Saleem said.Gilkar was detained as part of the police investigation into a case related to SIM cards used to access the Internet for "subversive activities", Saleem said.He, however, did not elaborate on the "subversive activities" the police is investigating.Two more people, whose names were not disclosed, have also been detained, the SDPO added.
