Locals in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam on Monday raised slogans of "Pakistan murdabad" and "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" during the last rites ceremony of DSP Aman Thakur, who had lost his life during an encounter with terrorists in Kulgam yesterday. The encounter was held on February 24 in Kulgam's Turigam village in South Kashmir in which DSP Aman Thankur sacrificed his life for the nation. Jammu an Kashmir police also paid tribute to the DSP Aman Thakur, who was a resident of Turigam village in Kulgam district, J&K.

In a fierce gun-battle, 3 militants and an Army personnel were also killed during the encounter.

For the past one and a half years, DSP Aman Thakur, a 2011 batch KPS Officer, was leading the counter-terrorism wing of the Jammu and Kashmir police in Kulgam district.
