The Security forces have launched a massive Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in nine villages of Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to reports, militants are suspected to be trapped.

The Shopian Police, 62 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), 3 Rr and the 14th Battalion of Central Police Reserve Force (CRPF) are conducting the search operation.

The villages under the cordon are Chakoora, Mantribug, Zaipora, Pratabpora, Takipora , Ranipora, Ratnipora, Dangam and Wangam.

On Friday, Home Minister Rajnath Singh said the issue of Kashmir issue will be solved before 2022. The Union Home Minister's assertion comes in the backdrop of the National Investigation Agency's (NIA's) crackdown on Kashmiri separatists.

Last week three militants were killed in an overnight encounter with security forces. Two Army men had also lost their life in the gunfight.Search operation launched in nine villages of Shopian
