The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, the only surface link between Kashmir Valley and rest of the country, was closed for vehicular traffic for third consecutive day today following snowfall and landslides triggered by heavy rains.No fresh traffic has been allowed between Jammu and Srinagar due to snowfall at Jawahar Tunnel, a senior official said, adding that heavy rainfall had triggered landslides at five or six places along the 300-kms long highway.However, he said that over 200 stranded vehicles have been allowed to pass through after clearing the roads.Workers of Border Road Organisation (BRO) are also working to clear the highway, he saidThe highway was closed on March 1 due to landslides at at Shetani Nallah.Earlier, the highway was closed on February 26 due to heavy snowfall and was re-opened on February 28.
