The world famous Jim Corbett National Park and Rajaji Park were today closed for tourists in view of the monsoon season, officials said.The parks, which house tigers and Asiatic elephants among others, would now reopen on November 15.Nearly 1,30,000 tourists, including 6688 foreigners, visited the Corbett Park during the just concluded tourist season, earning a revenue of Rs4.04 crore, they said.Similarly, 15,520 tourists, including 1933 foreigners, visited the Rajaji Park which helped the administration earn arevenue of Rs33.30 lakh, the officials said.Every year, the parks are closed during the monsoon period to ensure security for the wildlife.
