A 'jilted lover' today allegedly fired at a woman in broad daylight in the city, leaving her seriously injured, police said.
Shilpa (22) was on her two-wheeler when motorcycle-borne Arun Kumar Mishra intercepted her and shot at her in Rohini Sector-III.
The victim was immediately rushed to Jaipur Golden Hospital, where doctors said she was in a critical condition.
Bystanders who witnessed the incident caught the assailant and beat him up before handing him over to the police.
A US-made pistol with seven live cartridges and a country-made pistol with two live cartridges were recovered from his possession.
Police said it appeared that the 'jilted lover had attacked the woman to take revenge'.
