According to the Dean S Revwathy, jeans, tees and leggings can’t be worn by girls to college. They can’t leave their hair loose and neither can wear the famous Madurai jasmine on their hair. She has also instructed all male students to wear formal full sleeve shirts, trousers and shoes.

One of the reasons why she stated that girls shouldn't keep loose hair and flowers is so that patients at the Government Rajaji Hospital don’t get any infection when the students go there.

Madurai Medical College has had numerous ragging incidents in the past. But the Dean has assured freshers that no ragging takes place and that they have an anti-ragging committee to help students.
