Jayalalithaa wealth case adjourned to May 26
Special court Judge BM Mallikarjunaiah adjourned the case accepting the prosecution plea for time to file its objections to an application filed by Jayalalithaa's counsel for recalling one of the witnesses in the case.
A special court in Bangalore today adjourned to May 26 the hearing of the disproportionate assets case against Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa.Special court Judge BM Mallikarjunaiah adjourned the case accepting the prosecution plea for time to file its objections to an application filed by Jayalalithaa's counsel for recalling one of the witnesses in the case.Special public prosecutor BV Acharya sought time to file his objections.There are 259 witnesses in the case relating to alleged accumulation wealth disproportionate to known sources of income by Jayalalithaa when she was the chief minister from 1991 to 1996. The case was transferred to the Bangalore court by the Supreme Court.
