Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, DMK President M Karunanidhi today greeted Christians on the eve of Easter to be celebrated on Sunday.

"Easter Day commemorates the resurrection of Lord Jesus three days after he was crucified on Good Friday. On this special day, I appeal let love and peace prevail and people follow the preachings of Lord Jesus and live in unity", Jayalalithaa said in a release here.

Karunanidhi in his greetings, listed out the welfare measures taken by DMK for the Christian community when his party was in power. During DMK regime, the party always maintained "good" relations with the Christians and DMK was the only party to be "supportive" of the community, he claimed.

People Welfare Front Coordinator and MDMK chief Vaiko, PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss also extended their Easter greetings.
