The official swearing-in ceremony took place at noon on Monday for which DMK's treasurer and opposition leader MK Stalin was invited for. Stalin attended the ceremony and was greeted by leaders but he was offered a seat in the 10th row amidst the crowd. Stalin was seen navigating among the crowd of AIADMK leaders and other politicians who were seated in front of him.

Meanwhile, all the other leaders including Sarath Kumar,  BJP Union Minister K Venkaiah Naidu, Pon Radhakrishnan were all seated in the front row among the other VIPs.  DMK leader M Karunanidhi stated that his son MK Stalin was the opposition leader and DMK had won in 89 seats in Tamil Nadu positioning itself as the  prime opposition in the legislative assembly. And yet, Stalin was not treated with the respect he deserved. He was deliberately humiliated was his allegation.

Putting Sarath Kumar in the front row and Stalin in the back amidst the crowd was totally planned and was done by J Jayalalithaa to shame the DMK party, was Karunanidhi's contention.
