CHENNAI: Finding fault with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi ''for failure on many counts", AIADMK General Secretray Jayalalithaa on Saturday demanded his resignation and dissolution of the state Assembly.
     
She said in a statement that many companies in the state had started laying off employees due to power shortage and more than 50,000 employees have lost their jobs.  The prices of vegetables have gone up sharply and the Chief Minister owning moral responsibility should quit, she said.
 
Some IT companies had started retrenchment and agriculture sector was worst affected due to power crisis, she said.
 
On TNEB workers remarks that the power generation in the state had come down by 3380 MW, she wanted to how Karunanidhi was going to explain this.
 
She also alleged deterioration of law and order in the state under the DMK rule.
